AGM-176 “Griffin”

Griffin is a INS/GPS based “mini-missile” which can be configured for use on aircraft, ships, or ground launch.    Raytheon is the Prime Contractor.

When combined with the Launcher, the system forms the Griffin Real Time Attack System.

Launcher electronics are provided by ASEI and utilize the ASEI Advanced Tactical Navigation System (ATACNAV) for autonomous INS/GPS navigation:

• GPS RF either direct from platform or from launcher on-board antenna
• Provides GPS RF and navigation initialization/alignment data to the stores
• Allows the use of GPS based systems on host platforms that cannot support GPS
• Supports 1553 “J” weapon interface and Limited UAI
